Conditions for obtaining service

  • 3 years of profession practice or two years after selling a pharmacy the applicant used to own.
  • An area of 40 square meters should be available for the pharmacy to be licensed.
  • The distance between the pharmacy to be licensed and the nearest pharmacy should be 100 meter, licensed in longitudinal commercial and central commercial building, and 250 meter in the remaining types of classification.
  • The number of the branches of the pharmacy should be the same as the number of pharmacist partners and not more.

Procedures

  1. Referring to the Pharmaceutical Institutions Licensing Department and submitting the application on the form of licensing the pharmacy and requesting a first inspection and attaching the required documents.
  2. Auditing the documents and accrediting the application.
  3. Documenting the application in the register.
  4. Transferring the application to the director of the Health Professions and Institutions Licensing Directorate to be transferred to the Pharmaceutical Institutions Licensing Department.
  5. Listing the licensing application on the field inspection program.
  6. Conducting the first inspection on the location to verify the completion of the area and distance conditions.
  7. In the event of disapproval, the applicant is given the licensing official letter stating the reasons of disapproval.
  8. In the event of conditions completion, the applicant is provided with a preliminary approval official letter on the location.

Second inspection:

  1. Referring to the Pharmaceutical Institutions Licensing Department and submitting a request for a second inspection attached with the required documents.
  2. Auditing the documents and accrediting the application and providing the licensing applicant with the prepetition instructions and required technical and health specifications.
  3. Payment of the prescribed fees in Finance Section.
  4. Documenting the application in the register.
  5. Transferring the application to the director of the Health Professions and Institutions Licensing Directorate to be transferred to the Pharmaceutical Institutions Licensing Department.
  6. Listing the licensing application on the field inspection program.
  7. Pharmaceutical Institutions Licensing committee conducts a second inspection on the pharmacy to ensure the fulfillment of the technical and health conditions.
  8. In the event of disapproval, the licensing applicant is given an official letter with the reasons for disapproval, and the applicant has right to object and accordingly a committee is formed to verify the objection.
  9. In the event of conditions completion the applicant is given an approval signed by the Minister for licensing and work commencement.

Required Documents

Prior to the first inspection stage

  1. Certificate of full time work (resignation letter from the last job and a certificate from social security proving his noncompliance with work for any other party).
  2. Lease contract in the name of the institution (valid) or the title deed of the premises where the pharmacy will be licensed.
  3. An area plan from a licensed surveyor, and a report stating the area of the pharmacy and the distance with respect to the nearest previously licensed pharmacy.
  4. The approval the municipality where the pharmacy to be licensed is located.
  5. A valid organizational location plan (issuance date within a year)..
  6. A copy of ID.
  7. Approval of Pharmaceutical Association to license the pharmacy.

 

After the preliminary approval on the location

  1. Copy of the commercial register certificate issued by the Ministry of Industry, Trade and Supply.
  2. Copy of trade name registration certificate.
  3. Stamp of the pharmacy indicating (trade name and detailed address).
  4. Daily prescriptions register order-form.
